Support Our Work
A donation in any amount will ensure that your love of cranes, wildlife and habitat conservation makes a positive difference. Crane Trust welcomes monetary support, business sponsorships, legacy gifts, and gifts of stock or commodities.
Scientific Research
We are committed to maintaining a quality and long-term applied science program that allows us to track the biological and hydrological “vital signs” of the Central Platte River Valley. This includes tracking crane abundance, habitat use and behavior as well as the conditions of the braided river and wet meadow habitats. Our research is used to inform land and water management, conservation policies, and land preservation efforts.
Land Management
Every year our team undertakes active land management practices including prescribed fire, bison and cattle herd management, disking of braided river channels, and vegetation management. These practices are vital in maintaining the Central Platte River Valley ecosystem.
Education & Outreach
Crane Trust education activities are designed to share the intrinsic value of nature, increasing understanding of the environment and recognize humanity’s role in protecting wild ecosystems.
Membership
Join the Crane Trust for as little as $75 per year, and enjoy exclusive benefits just for Members! You can help ensure that the cranes and other migratory birds continue to thrive along the Platte River for generations to come.
Volunteer
Whether guiding public crane tours, helping with special events, maintaining trails, or assisting with science research, volunteers play essential roles. Please note that community help is most needed in March, and periodically throughout the year.
