Veterans Appreciation Program: Veterans in Agriculture at the Crane Trust
Join us this November, at the Crane Trust to celebrate Veterans! The day will include many family friendly activities including a scavenger hunt, a nature hike, live animal demonstrations, wood carving, and guest speakers.
We are welcoming guest speakers Wyatt Fraas and Dan Hromas to speak about their experiences working with Farmers and as a Veteran farmer.
Wyatt Frass is the Farm and Community Assistant Director for the Center for Rural Affairs. Fraas has lived and farmed across different ecosystems throughout the country. He has settled in Nebraska and now works with farmers to help them reach their goals. Fraas collaborates with Farmers to find approaches for grazing, growing crops, and marketing to make it possible to stay on the land.
Dan Hromas is Veteran and Farmer and lifelong Nebraskan. Hromas comes from a family of Veterans that inspired him to enlist in the Marines after graduating from High School. He served four years in the Marines and two in the Army. After graduating college, with the help of the state of Nebraska and the Farmer Veteran Coalition, he was able to start his business, Prairie Pride Poultry.
