Plates, utensils, and drinks providedBird counts engage bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Colleen Childers and Ann Cruz will speak about the Nebraska Bird count. Both are members of the Nebraska Ornithologist Union.
Ann has been involved with the Christmas Bird Count and the Hall County Spring Bird Count
since the early 1990's. Along with her husband Ron, she has been organizing both counts since the spring of 2021 when member Connie McCartney retired.
Colleen Childers, retired educator and avid birder has done the bird count for 8 years.
All results are sent to the NE Ornithologist Union who publishes the information in The Nebraska Bird Review.
